A thermoformed tray has no list price. Our sales desk works out each price from your part, your material and your order size. The more of that you send at the start, the closer the first price lands to the final one, and the fewer calls it takes to get there.
Aravinth Polymers makes trays, blister packs, clamshells and ESD trays by vacuum forming in Chennai. Our minimum order is 500 pieces.
The Checklist
A drawing, sample or photo
This is the one thing we cannot price without. Any of these works:
- A 2D or 3D drawing, or a CAD file
- A physical sample of the part the tray will hold
- A tray or blister you buy today
- A photo of the part with dimensions marked
If you send a tray you already use, we identify its polymer and gauge and quote a matching mould. We will also tell you if it is over-specified. We treat all drawings and client information as confidential.
Part and tray dimensions
Give the overall size in millimetres, as length by width by height. If the tray holds several parts, tell us how many pockets you need and how they should sit. Tell us the part weight too, because it affects the gauge.
Material, if you know it
Name the polymer if your drawing or your customer specifies one. If not, tell us how the tray will be used, and we will recommend one of the seven we run: ABS, HIPS, PVC, APET, GPET, HDPE or PP. Our guide to choosing a tray material and thickness shows how use maps to polymer.
Sheet thickness, if you know it
We run sheet from 0.15 mm to 6.0 mm. If you do not know the gauge, describe the load and the handling, and we will suggest one.
Quantity per order and per year
Give the first order size and your expected yearly volume. The yearly figure decides whether an MDF or an aluminium mould suits you, and how many cavities the mould should have. A larger order spreads the setup over more pieces, so the piece price drops as quantity rises.
How the Tray Is Handled
Stacking, sealing, washing and transport change both the material and the shape. Tell us:
- Whether trays stack, nest or need a lid
- Whether a blister seals to a card or lidding film
- Whether trays return for reuse or wash-down
- How the trays travel, and to which bins, trolleys or racks they must fit
ESD or food-contact needs
For electronics, tell us whether you need anti-static or conductive trays, and the surface resistance range your process requires. For food, say so at the enquiry stage. We use food-grade APET, PP or HDPE from established suppliers and can pass on their documents with the order. Any documents your audit requires should also be requested at this stage.
Colour and finish
Clear sheet comes in PVC, APET and GPET. White, black and standard colours are available in HIPS, ABS, HDPE and PP, subject to sheet availability.
Delivery
Tell us where the parts go and when you need them. We dispatch across India, and quote freight and packing separately so you can compare fairly.
What Happens After You Send It
- We review the part. Our team checks formability, draft angles and nesting. Then we work out the material and gauge, and how many cavities the mould needs.
- You get one quote. It gives the mould cost and the piece price together, with the polymer we recommend and the reason for it. The mould is a one-time cost quoted separately from the piece price.
- We make the mould in-house, in MDF or aluminium.
- You receive first-article samples for fit, stacking and line trials. We adjust the mould until you sign them off.
- Production starts. The signed first article becomes the reference for every batch, and we check parts against it through each run.
If the part needs a design review for formability, we tell you and give a realistic date. Our guide to blister packaging cost explains what moves the price.
